Ten way to keep your wife happy...

  • Tell Her You Love Her

    • Even though she knows that you love her, it still makes her happy to hear you say it out loud. You can even put it in a card and post it on the fridge or post it on notes you place throughout the house.

    Do Some Chores

    • Although men do more housework than they in past years, according to the National Science Foundation, women still do most of the chores around the house. Brighten your wife's day by hanging up the clothes, putting the dishes in the dishwasher or offering to bathe the children while your wife puts her feet up and rests.
      Date Night
    • Surprise her by taking her on a date. Arrange for a babysitter, Make dinner reservations at a romantic restaurant, arrange for a sitter, then surprise your wife by asking her on a date. Make sure she knows whether to dress up or dress casual.

    Do the Groccery Shopping

    • The weekly grocery shopping can be drudgery for many women. Ask your wife for the grocery list and tell her to stay home and relax while you take care of it. Alternatively, make a habit of calling once or twice a week -- as you are leaving work -- and ask her if there is anything she needs you to pick up on your way home.

    Give Her a Massage

    • Your wife will appreciate a loving back-rub or shoulder massage. If she likes having her feet rubbed, grab a small towel and some lotion. Have her lie on the sofa with her feet on your lap, while you pamper her.

    Hidden Love Notes

    • Jot down on a piece of paper three things about her that make you smile, fold the paper and slip it into her suit pocket before she leaves for work. Write down, "You're my best friend!" and tape it to the microwave. If she is going away on business or just heading to Manhattan for a girls getaway, slip a note into her luggage that says, "I miss you!"

    Flowers

    • Stop at a local florist and pick up some fresh flowers to arrange in a vase. Do it because she's special, not because it is your anniversary, her birthday or Valentine's Day.

    Compliment Her

    • Even though her hair may be pulled back and her sweatpants are splattered with baby formula stains, compliment her beauty. She might not be feeling as beautiful as she was when you two first met, so let her know, that in your eyes, she's still divine. Do not just save compliments for her looks; however, be sure to let her know how intelligent, kind and caring she is, as well.

    Communicate

    • Characteristically, women talk more about their emotions and feelings than men. Engage in discussions with your wife, often, and listen to what she has to say. Be sure to express your feelings, as well. Opening the lines of communication works both ways.

    Be Chivalrous

    • Show respect for your wife by being a gentleman. Even if you have been married for many years, and chivalry has fallen by the wayside, revive it by opening doors for her, pulling out her chair at the restaurant and helping her with heavy bags. Politeness is relevant in any relationship.
